In today's knowledge economy, technology transfer is becoming a key mechanism for ensuring technological progress and sustainable development. This process is a complex system for exchanging scientific developments, technical solutions, and expertise between research centers, educational institutions, and industrial enterprises.
Technology transfer is of particular importance in the context of the need for accelerated commercialization of scientific results and import substitution of critical technologies.
The Saint Petersburg Technopark provides targeted support for startups in priority sectors that align with national technological leadership projects and the city's strategic development goals. Key areas of support include:

  • Radioelectronics and instrumentation;
  • Pharmaceuticals and medicine;
  • IT and cybersecurity;
  • Food industry;
The Residency Program is a comprehensive support cycle lasting up to 36 months for projects at the minimum viable product (MVP) stage. Program participants receive full access to Technopark infrastructure, including modern co-working zones, specialized laboratories, and production sites.

“Cultivation” of small technology companies

The program includes individual consultations with leading industry experts who help refine both the technological aspects of the project and the development of a sustainable business model. Residents gain direct contacts for communication with experts, investors, and large corporations, and are provided access to the partner network, the Technology Transfer and University Cooperation tracks, as well as the opportunity to consult with members of the mentor club.

Special attention is paid to support measures for small technology companies (STCs), including assistance in obtaining grant funding, legal support, and aid in bringing products to market. The program facilitates the accelerated development of startups and their transformation into sustainable technology businesses.
Saint Petersburg Technopark supports research and development (R&D) in collaboration with the city's leading universities.

Commercialization of university scientific developments

Within this area, comprehensive technological support is provided to bring promising scientific developments to the industrial implementation stage. Particular attention is paid to projects corresponding to priority areas of technological development, including biotechnology, radioelectronics, and new materials. The Technopark provides access to modern research infrastructure and organizes expert and methodological support at all stages of project implementation.
A separate line of the Technopark's activity is dedicated to supporting student initiatives through a program for transforming projects into sustainable business models. Young researchers are provided with the opportunity to participate in acceleration programs, including federal initiatives "UMNIK" and "AI-Accelerator", as well as industry-specific accelerators such as the All-Russian Accelerator in the field of shipbuilding and ship repair "NIOKS". A key element is regular presentations of student developments to corporate representatives, which allows for valuable feedback and the adaptation of products to real market needs. This approach facilitates the creation of science-intensive startups and the integration of young specialists into technological entrepreneurship.
"Saint Petersburg Technopark" provides comprehensive technological support for startups through specialized engineering centers, each of which offers a unique set of services for projects in priority industries.

Technological support for startups in key industry sectors

The Prototyping Center provides startups with access to a full cycle of prototype creation: 3D printing using FDM, SLA, SLM, and SLS technologies, electrical discharge machining, and 3D scanning. For projects in the field of radioelectronics, the RIC REP offers printed circuit board design, component mounting and dismantling, X-ray quality control, and design and engineering work. Biotechnology startups can utilize the facilities of the RIC APS, where microreactor synthesis, freeze-drying, NMR studies, and other analytical services are available.
SafeNet Engineering Center provides startups with a platform for integrating and testing IT solutions in the field of secure information systems, offering computing power, access to equipment, and specialized consultancy services.

Russian Vendor Demonstration Site offers domestic IT companies a unique opportunity for testing and demonstrating their solutions. More than 50 units of hardware and software are available at the site, including personal computers, servers, operating systems, and office software.
UAS RPC provides comprehensive support for projects in the field of unmanned aviation. Center specialists assist in organizing certification testing. Modern simulators, including specialized UAV operator trainers, are available for refining control algorithms. Additionally, the center provides consultancy support for attracting grants to finance project development.

Business Incubator implements the "Residency" program with industry tracks, including robotics and unmanned systems, medical and biotechnologies, and industrial IT projects. Within the "Technology Transfer" area, scientific developments are translated into industrial solutions by organizing interaction between startups, universities, and industrial enterprises.
