The industrial complex of St. Petersburg demonstrates sustainable development, integrating enterprises of various scales — from large corporations to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The city maintains leading positions in strategic sectors, including
mechanical engineering,
pharmaceutical industry,
medical equipment manufacturing and
microelectronics.
Significant attention is paid to the development of SMEs, which occupy a substantial share in the structure of the industrial sector. Within the framework of state support,
subsidized programs for the modernization of production facilities and
concessional lending are implemented, aimed at increasing the competitiveness of enterprises and introducing innovative technologies.
More than
500 large and medium-sized industrial enterprises operate in key sectors:
mechanical engineering (30% of UAV production in the RF),
pharmaceuticals and
medical technology,
microelectronics and
instrument engineering.
SME growth for 2024 amounted to
3%.
