In the context of modern geopolitical realities, the import substitution program aimed at ensuring the country's technological independence has become particularly relevant. Saint Petersburg is implementing a comprehensive approach to this strategic task, based on a reverse engineering program.
This methodology allows for the rapid development of domestic analogues for critical components in high-tech industries that were previously supplied from abroad.
Ensuring technological sovereignty is a key focus of the Saint Petersburg Technopark. A comprehensive ecosystem has been established here for the development and implementation of domestic solutions in critical industries. The Technopark's infrastructure enables a full work cycle — from idea and prototype to mass production.

The Business Incubator supports high-tech startups, helping them develop proprietary solutions for subsequent industrial implementation.

The Center for Support of Technological and Cluster Projects facilitates the development of critical components in strategic sectors of the Russian economy through consulting support for obtaining grants for these activities.
The Prototyping Center develops the use of additive technologies (3D printing) for rapid import substitution of complex components, providing a full product development cycle from 3D scanning to printing on SLM 3D printers.

The Regional Engineering Center for Radio-Electronic Instrumentation (REI) conducts a full cycle of reverse engineering for electronic components using modern equipment.

The Engineering Center for Microreactor Synthesis of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) works on solutions for small-scale and research chemistry, the oil and gas industry, and pharmaceuticals — key areas of import substitution.
The Research and Production Center for Testing and Competencies in the Development of Unmanned Aircraft Systems in Saint Petersburg consolidates UAV projects, implementing the "Unmanned Aircraft Systems" national project and helping Saint Petersburg achieve a leading position in the industry.

The Russian Vendor Demonstration Site ensures import substitution of software and hardware solutions, providing a platform for testing domestic servers, data storage systems, and virtualization platforms in conditions close to real-world environments.
The Saint Petersburg Technopark makes a significant contribution to strengthening the country's pharmaceutical security by supporting projects to create domestic pharmaceutical substances, biosimilars, and medical equipment. Food Security

Residents of the MedBioTech industry track at the Business Incubator work on food security solutions, while the networking system helps them implement their developments through interaction with large agricultural holdings and food corporations.

A key role is played by the Chemical Laboratory of the Saint Petersburg Technopark, which possesses a modern laboratory equipment fleet for conducting complex research in the food industry and product composition analysis.
